Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Malta were established on 27 May 1993.
On 4 February 2014, Sargis Ghazaryan was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Malta (with residence in Rome).
On 14 October 2014, Pierre Clive Agius, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Malta to Armenia (with residence in Warsaw), presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.
On 18 December 2008, Artur Aleksanyan was appointed Honorary Consul of Malta in Armenia (residence in Yerevan).
