MILAN. PARTICIPATION OF THE AMBASSADOR BAGDASSARIAN IN THE CELEBRATIONS DEDICATED TO THE 25° ANNIVERSARY OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

On September 21 at "Casa Armena" of Milan a reception dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia was held which was followed by a concert. The event was organized by the Honorary Consulate of Armenia in Milan in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Italy and the Armenian community of Milan.

The Honorary Consul Pietro Kuchukyan, the President of "Casa Armena" Marina Mavyan, the Vice President of the city Council of Milan Beatrice Uguccioni delivered their welcoming speeches.

On behalf of the local authorities Vice President Uguccioni congratulated the armenians of Milan and the Armenian people on the occasion of the National Day, emphasizing their contribution to the development of the city.

In her remarks the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Italy H.E. Victoria Bagdassarian, while congratulating with the anniversary which has a special signification and meaning for each and every Armenian, also presented the achievements of the Republic of Armenia during the last 25 years and touched upon the importance of the development of Armenian-Italian friendly relations as well as the close ties between Armenia and the Diaspora. The Ambassador Bagdassarian expressed her confidence that the Armenian people, who has overcome many difficulties in the past, with its huge potential will overcome also the current challenges, creating a secure, prosperous and bright future.

At the end of the reception music of Komitas and Gurdjieff was performed by the Italian group "La Paix".

The representatives of Milan municipality, NGOs, the Armenian community as well as the consuls accredited in Milan were present at the event.
